Search-tool entries
If you enter a name, location, or other query in a search tool, that entry is sent to the third-party provider operating the tool. We do not store or log those search terms on our side. Review the provider's own privacy notice before submitting a query.
Messages
We retain an email or a message sent through a contact method only as needed to respond. We do not share those messages outside our organization unless a valid legal requirement calls for disclosure.
Technical and cookie data
When a page loads, standard web systems may collect technical information such as:
- Internet Protocol address
- Browser type and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages visited and time spent on them
- The referring website, when one is supplied

Requests made directly to a Minnesota government office are governed by the data rules applicable to that office, including the public-data access framework in Minn. Stat. ยง 13.03, rather than this notice.
Advertising partners may collect or use activity across websites for interest-based advertising through their own systems. We do not control those systems or their privacy choices.

We use reasonable safeguards for a website of this kind, but no internet-connected service can promise complete security. Do not send sensitive information through an ordinary website message unless you accept that risk.

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor submitted personal information, contact us so that we can review and delete it where appropriate.

Subject to applicable law and the information we actually hold, you may ask us to:

- Stop certain processing where an opt-out is available
These requests do not apply to an official Pennington County, court, or state record. Direct a government-record request to the agency that maintains it.

We may revise this notice as the site or its services change. The updated version will be posted here with a revised effective date.
